Are you checking that your online listings are accurate?

A recent survey showed that approx 50 percent of SMBs (Small to Medium Businesses) have seen online listings for their business that are not accurate.

The majority of these businesses understand its important to be found on major search sites, local search and directory sites. But 70 percent of SMBs say they don’t have the time to manage their listings on all of the sites that consumers use. So many listings remain out of date or inaccurate as they have never been updated.

It is important that your business’s presence on the net is accurate and communicating what you have to offer. Remember to check all paid listings for your business when renewing these – don’t just leave these the same year after year:

Update the photos if required (eg Rental Car Companies – have your models changed?)
Revise your listing text if necessary to better focus on what you have to sell
Check all details are accurate including contact details
Check any links from your listing to your site are actually working
Take advantage of any new listing enhancements available such as Book Now button, Videos, TripAdvisor reviews etc
