This survey showed that 84 percent of SMBs believe that having a website that can easily be viewed on a mobile device is important to their business. see http://searchengineland.com/survey-half-of-small-businesses-never-update-their-listings-online-147459
But only 25 percent of SMBs know how to create a mobile optimised web site
Your web developer can help you with a mobile site for a cost.
But there are also several free or relatively cheap options that allow you to easily convert your site and edit it yourself. (eg $US86 per year)
Duda Mobile, a Google company does this very easily. You can try it online at http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-7063664-11105094 (this url directs to Duda)
It only takes about 5 minutes to convert your site and see what it might look like. If you like what you see, you can publish your site. To do this your developer will just need to add 2 lines of code to your home page. After that you have a mobile friendly site! Easy!
The site will not convert exactly but it is normally pretty good and close to the original (can be easily edited to fix things). But it now has text that is big enough to read with minimal scrolling and zooming etc. You can even have your own mobile domain name (like m.yoursite.co.nz). Compare it with your normal site on a phone!
Have a look at www.greatnewzealand.co.nz on your mobile to see the difference. Minimal zooming and scrolling.
If you need help with converting, setting up and editing a mobile site using DudaMobile, contact us and we can help.
We can even temporarily set your mobile site up on a test site so that you can view it live on your mobile devices before committing.
