So what is Web Marketing?
Date: 10 May 2007

In a nutshell, Web Marketing is about promoting your website in as wide a range of relevant places on the Internet as you can. The prime focus is to ensure that your site is found quickly and easily by those people searching on the Internet for information.

You want your site to have a higher profile and be found more readily than your competitors. Ranking Number one in key search engines for relevant searches is the holy grail! More realistically achievable is being on the first page of the ‘organic’ (free) search results.

How is this achieved?

Not easily nor quickly unfortunately. There is no magic bullet for getting your site out there, but good site design and content are important. Another factor is time – the longer your site has been out there with good content, the more chance it will be ranking well.

Web marketing involves co-ordinating a lot of interrelated factors including site design, content, optimisation of Titles, Meta Tags and page text, submissions to relevant search engines & directories and building inbound links to your site from other relevant sites.
