Beware of Google Sitemaps offers
Date: 12 July 2007

A number of clients have also been contacted by a US company advising them that their site is missing the Google sitemap file and offering to rectify this, for a price. This is not a scam – what they say about the sitemap is quite reasonable. However, just be aware of the implications of the offer before you accept it.

It is priced in $US for the service.
You will have to give them FTP access to your site. It is not generally advisable to give this to parties other than your developer and perhaps web marketing company.
The company, or you, need to manage the Google sitemap account.
Your web developer or web marketing company can probably already do this for you if required.
