Google Spam email
Date: 12 December 2007
We recently reported on Google Adwords spam email. This one is similar.
There is currently an email circulating which says that it comes from:
Google NewZeland SubmitSite@Google.Co.Nz
The heading of the email is:
“Your Current Google New Zeland Website Listing”
(note the spelling error!)
The content of the email actually directs you to a third party submission service and implies that it will get you in “Google's Top10 listings and 200 other worldwide search engines”
This seems like a pretty amateur and blatant attempt to pretend that it is Google themselves recommending this service. Clearly it is not, and seems to be spam that is also “spoofing” a Google email address.
We suggest you ignore this email or report it to Google if you receive it. Automated submission services are not recommended.
